Sabine Spitz
Sabine Spitz (D)
She has won whatever there is to win, is regarded as the display emblem of German MTB sport and as the world’s most successful mountain biker. Whoever doesn’t yet know that the reference is to the absolutely exceptional athlete Sabine Spitz does not know about international MTB.
In 2004 she was the first German to win an Olympic Bronze Medal and in 2008 even gold. Her list of successes documents her world class: 2 world champion titles, innumerable deputy titles and World Cup victories. As well as an almost unbroken series of the German Champion title.
Sabine shows what one can achieve with willpower. In spite of a late career start at the age of 22, she rapidly dominated the German competition and became firmly entrenched at world level. In doing so, Sabine does not seek success at any price; instead she has campaigned for a long time for dope-free and honest sport.
With her class and experience, Sabine will take over the leadership role in the new team.
