Innovations in Detail

Bike frames were always something special. Nowadays, a frame incorporates more ideas and detail innovations than the entire bike previously.
Especially in our Haibike frames. Below is an overview of the technologies of which your Haibike is comprised. You'll be amazed …

Dual Channel Downtube

The DCD offers several advantages. The vertical place built-in lengthwise improves the tube's stability. The tube is thereby better protected against deformation by stone chips, or sticks flung beneath the down tube, and by means of the additional edges within, it increases the tube's resistance to bending, and thereby the torsional stiffness.

Oversize Composite Pressfit BB - PFBB

The 100% - carbon bottom bracket shell is already connected inseparably to the frame during the manufacturing process. By means of enlarged diameter and the specially-adjusted bottom bracket area we attain a higher stiffness along with lower weight. The inside bearing has the same supporting breadth as an externally-locate bearing, but is embedded in the bottom bracket shell. Using special reamers, the bearing seats are abraded to measure after the manufacturing process. In doing so, only excess resin is removed – the fibers remain unharmed. Absolute fitting accuracy and a perfect seat are thereby guaranteed.

Composite Post Mount (Thermo Vent) - TVPM

By means of an aluminum U-profile laminated into the disc brake mount, braking power is led over a larger surface into the frame, reducing isolated loads. Thanks
to the higher heat conductivity conductibility and larger surface of the material, more heat is led off than in case of standard dropouts. The special shape of the mount brings about extra cooling by the wind blast.

Full Carbon Hollowgram Dropout - FCHD

The dropouts are hollow inside and the wall thicknesses vary according to load. This enables a weight saving of about 10% along with higher durability and stiff-
ness. In the case of the MTB frame the stiffness of the post mount dropouts has been raised by about 15% compared to standard for tips, with lower weight. The derailleur hangers are milled out of a CNC block and then shot-peened and anodized for surface compression.

Tapered Head Tube - THT

The THT enables the use of tapered steerer forks. The enlarged diameter of the lower bearing seat results in a higher stiffness of the head tube area and extended durability of the bearings. After the manufacturing process, the bearing seats are abraded to measure by special reamers. By doing so only the surplus resin is re-
moved, the fibers remaining intact. As a result, the Sleek, Heet and Greed models no longer require aluminum inserts, and we can press the bearing bush of the headset directly onto the carbon.

Super Slim Seat Stays - 4S

The frame's incredibly slim seat stays were designed using special calculations and computer simulations in such as manner as to offer an optimal ratio of weight to stiffness. In the case of MTB frames they are designed asymmetrically and reinforced so that brake power on the left can be better directed into the stays. In addition, the Hardtail Greed features curved seat stays for a perceptibly more comfortable ride.

FlexPost System - FPS

These seat posts are distinguished by the Flex adapted to the area of use. As with our frames, we manufacture our FLEX posts by the dual channel technique, i.e. they have a central bar which allows variation of the wall thickness design. That way, the flexibility of the stays is adjusted and more comfort achieved. In case of the full suspension models Sleek and Heet, we use the "moderate Flex" version, whereas in the case of Hardtail Greed and the Affair race bike we use the "high Flex" version for slightly more comfort.

Sector Layup Technology - SLT

When doing the frame layup, the single layers of Prepregs (high modulus fibers pre-impregnated with ASRC resin) are divided into several sectors. By overlapping one another, every sector further reinforces the next one. The whole frame structure becomes noticeably reinforced in comparison to a standard layup, thanks both to the fiber volume ratio, and to the orientation of the fibers, which is adapted to each sector. The frame can thereby absorb more forces, in spite of its lower weight, and is characterized by high durability.

Full Carbon Rocker - FCR

The FCR is the heart of the SLEEK / HEET frame. It deflects the impacts of bumpy road surfaces and transmits them to the Fox RP23BV damper, which is specially adapted to the SLEEK / HEET chassis. Thanks to the arrangement of the pivots, the combination of frame and damper is free of bouncing and sector layup technology (SLT) drive influences.

Carbon Protection Shield

The Carbon Protection Shield protects the down tube against damages caused by whirling stones or branches during fast riding. Apart from ultra-lightness, the carbon is naturally exchangeable. Furthermore it protects the cables and brake line running below it.
Code No. System

At last an individual marking of our high‐class carbon frames is possible. In cooper- ation with the Frankfurt company Code-No.com Haibike offers the registration of all carbon frames by means of a sticker under the paint. The registration serves for theft prevention, i.e. the coded bikes can be identified anytime anonymously online. To do so, one has to enter the home page www.code‐no.com and after clicking the button "Verify code number", one gets information as to the status of the bike within seconds. Moreover, the enterprise offers an anonymous back transfer service.

12 mm Floating Axle

A twelve millimeter floating axle keeps the drive safe. This mounting allows a slim construction in the rear frame triangle, which makes the whole frame even stiffer, though simultaneously lighter. Rear wheel installation is easier and the disc brakes remain completely free of abrasion. We fit the 12 millimeter floating axle to the frames of the Heet, Rock Star and Big Curve models.

Reverse Angle Motor Concept (RAM)

We are the first - and until now the only - manufacturer to have rotated the new Bosch middle motor by 210° within the inner frame trapeze. Doing this allows maximum chain-ring clearance and full clearance height to be reached in spite of the central bottom bracket motor. This configuration also allows optimal protection of the drive from damages by the lower bottom bracket area.
